Apple has wrapped up its grand September iPhone event, unveiling the anticipated iPhone 16 along with a fresh series of AirPods and the Apple Watch Series 10. However, one noticeable absence was the launch of an M4 Mac or MacBook.
This seems set to change in the near future.
Upcoming M4 Macs from Apple likely to debut in November
Recent leaks suggest that a new version of the Mac Mini could be just around the corner, hinting at exciting updates regarding this desktop model and reinforcing speculations about significant design changes.
Anticipated Arrival of the New Mac Mini M4
The latest update for macOS, titled Sequoia, was released on Monday. This release may have inadvertently confirmed Apple’s plans to roll out a new version of the Mac Mini featuring an upgraded M4 chipset.
Aaron Perris, a contributor for MacRumors, identified an intriguing line within Apple’s newly issued code that references “Apple silicon Mac mini (5 Port).” This discovery adds further weight to earlier reports.

This development supports insights from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. He highlighted that Apple is gearing up to introduce not only an enhanced model powered by their cutting-edge M4 chipset but also one that’s entirely reimagined. The upcoming Mac Mini is rumored to be roughly comparable in size to an Apple TV device—marking its first design overhaul since 2010.
To facilitate this compact design shift, it’s suggested that Apple might eliminate USB-A ports altogether from this desktop unit. Instead, it plans to incorporate five USB-C ports—the likely reference behind “5 Port” found within the coding string.
This revelation stands as perhaps our most credible indication yet regarding a forthcoming release. With whispers circulating about one final promotional event for 2023 potentially taking place between late October and November, it seems increasingly probable that we will witness announcements related to these highly anticipated M4 Macs expected for 2024.
