The Dog Photography Awards honor ​everything ⁣we cherish about dogs, showcasing stunning images that reflect their unique personalities and charm.⁣ This year, a remarkable 1,700 entries were‌ submitted from over 60 countries. A panel of judges—comprising photographers, canine specialists, and industry professionals—recognized outstanding work across five categories: ‍Action, Documentary, Dogs & People, Portraits, and Studio.

“Greenlandic Flat Tire.” ‍First Place – Documentary
This photograph was captured during a blizzard journey ⁣from Siorapaluk—the northernmost indigenous village globally—to Qaanaaq in Greenland. Lacking GPS or cell service and with only basic English communication skills for safety against‌ polar bears—a vintage rifle from 1940 was our only defense—we paused‍ so my guide Ilannguaq could untangle sled ropes while our 13 Greenlandic Huskies ⁣eagerly awaited their favorite activity:⁢ running.

The initial plan was for Kooki to ⁢simply stand outside the museum but his playful spirit took over when his owner tossed his frisbee into the air—I managed ⁤to capture this perfect moment.

Rune aged ninety years old shares an inseparable bond with‍ his‌ companion Hajen who brings him joy amidst health struggles including heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease stemming from years working at concrete factories ; losing Hajen would mean losing purpose for Rune who finds solace solely through their connection.

This image captures a Kelpie, Australia’s most esteemed working ⁢dog, ‍as it skillfully herds sheep across a vast wool farm in Collarenebri, NSW. The photo was taken during shearing season when the sheep were treated with an aqua-colored ​anti-lice spray before being guided to another section of the⁣ expansive 9,000-acre⁣ property.
