### Biden’s Commitment to the Campaign Trail
– Addressing rumors about his health following withdrawal from the 2024 race.

In a recent CBS interview broadcasted on Sunday, President Joe Biden dismissed concerns regarding his health and expressed eagerness to promote Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of her presidential bid.
Having stepped back as the Democratic frontrunner last month after a notably challenging debate performance, Biden shared insights about his well-being while outlining how he plans to assist Harris in her electoral journey.
“I had an exceptionally difficult day during that debate because I was under the weather, but I assure you there are no serious issues,” declared Biden during the CBS segment.
He subsequently shifted focus toward supporting Harris’s campaign, emphasizing his anticipation of traveling to Pennsylvania—a pivotal state for both Harris and former President Donald Trump.
“I spoke with Governor [Josh] Shapiro, who’s a close ally. Winning Pennsylvania is essential; it’s my original home turf,” he stated. “We are coordinating a campaign tour across Pennsylvania.”
Furthermore, he added, “I intend to be active in other states too and will engage in whatever activities Kamala believes will make the most impact.”
Since stepping away from his candidacy, President Biden has maintained visibility through significant events rather than disappearing from public life entirely.
Earlier this month, he facilitated a complex prisoner exchange involving multiple nations including Russia—this deal successfully freed at least 24 individuals. The exchanged included three Americans: Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich; former US Marine Paul Whelan; and journalist Alsu Kurmasheva. This event was considered a culmination of extensive negotiations over several months.
Upon their return to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland after their release, both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were present to welcome them back home.
During this recent CBS discussion, Biden conveyed aspirations for how history might remember him: “I hope people recall my leadership as evidence that democracy can thrive.”
“As it stood,” he continued proudly, “we navigated through a pandemic effectively; we achieved what is recognized as one of the most remarkable economic recoveries ever recorded in America. Our economy remains unrivaled globally—we still have more milestones ahead.”
