Nev Schulman expressed how fortunate he feels to be alive after sustaining serious neck injuries in a collision with a truck while riding his bicycle earlier this week. The popular television personality, recognized for the 2010 documentary and its subsequent series “Catfish,” informed followers through an extensive Instagram update about the unfortunate incident and his healing journey.
The accident occurred on August 5 as he was en route to pick up his son from school. In an emotional reflection, he recounted: “I never reached my son’s school that day on my bike. In fact, I am somewhat relieved about that outcome; it was just me colliding with the truck—and then meeting the pavement—I was alone at that moment.”
Extent of Injuries Revealed
Upon arriving at the hospital, Nev learned more about the severity of his injuries. He disclosed in his post: “I fractured my neck—specifically at C5 and C6—but fortunately these are stable fractures. I am not paralyzed.” He added there was uncertainty regarding hand movement temporarily but emphasized the body’s remarkable ability to heal itself. “I’m incredibly grateful to still be here with my family,” he mentioned while highlighting that many individuals suffering similar breaks may never regain full mobility.
