Mark Cuban Critiques Donald Trump’s Leadership
On Friday, Mark Cuban intensified his criticism of former President Donald Trump while continuing to advocate for Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign efforts.
During an appearance on Fox Business with Neil Cavuto, Cuban stated that while he could enjoy spending time with Trump socially, he could not endorse him for the presidency again.
“If he wants to grab dinner or have a drink one evening—though he won’t drink—I’m fine with that. He’s enjoyable company and possesses great charisma,” said Cuban. “However, I believe he was an ineffective president previously, and I think he’ll be even worse this time around.”
The Core Issue: Ability Over Personality
Cuban emphasized that Trump’s shortcomings stem from his capabilities rather than his character. When asked by Cavuto about Trump’s criticisms directed at him, Cuban interpreted it as evidence of Trump’s lack of focus on substantive issues.
“This shows how little attention he pays to policy matters and learning new information. This was fundamentally why I ceased supporting him back in 2016; the more we discussed policies, the less engaged he became,” explained Cuban.
A representative from Trump’s campaign did not provide immediate feedback regarding these comments outside regular business hours.
A Personal Take on Trump
In correspondence with Business Insider, Cuban described Trump as someone who can make people laugh due to his amusing remarks: “We all have friends like that.” He added that personally interacting with Trump reveals a personable side to him.
“He is genuinely friendly and pleasant when you meet him face-to-face,” wrote Cuban in the email.
Cuban’s Role in Supporting Harris
Since Kamala Harris announced her candidacy in July, Mark Cuban has unexpectedly taken on the role of her supporter. Recently, he’s been engaging in various media appearances—from participating in the “All-In” podcast to being featured by The New York Times.
According to reports from Business Insider, last week saw Cuba campaigning for Harris across three pivotal swing states: Wisconsin, Arizona, and Michigan.
