In a groundbreaking move, Norwegian Cruise Line is set to introduce voyages departing from Finland starting in June 2026, marking the establishment of a new homeport for the cruise company.
Sailing Route and Itinerary Features
The popular cruise line will deploy the Norwegian Sun, embarking on journeys throughout the majestic Baltic Sea. Passengers can set sail from Copenhagen and, for the first time ever, from Helsinki. These itineraries will range between seven to ten days with nearly daily port visits across countries such as Norway, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, and Sweden.
Select nine-day trips originating in Helsinki will feature an overnight stay in Copenhagen as part of their highlights.

The sailing program across the Baltic region is set to run from June through October 2026. A notable aspect of this season includes an impressive offering: over twenty-two overnight stops alongside eleven embarkation ports spanning ten different nations. Among these new destinations are Portree on Scotland’s Isle of Skye and Palamós along Spain’s coastline.
The Features of Norwegian Sun
Norwegian Sun, originally launched in 2001 but refreshed considerably last year (2021), houses up to 1,878 passengers and boasts delightful amenities including two outdoor pools as well as interactive game shows like “Deal or No Deal” and “Wheel of Fortune”. Expansion Plans Include More Homeports in 2026
